I was told that I’d never have that kind of sexual experience because of my stoma. I can tell you that you should never say never. Don’t stop living your life fully because of your stoma.
First you have to adapt, love yourself again, give yourself the right to feel pleasure and desire and reconnect with yourself and/or your partner. Ostomates usually start to wonder about intimacy and sexuality after a good deal of adaptation and acceptation has been done.
Once past the stage of getting used to your daily life, a lot of people with a stoma fear the moment they reclaim their sex life. How do you do it? This is a burning question. But what is a normal and fulfilling sex life?
